Haylie seems to be doing better with the teething. I still think she's working on getting some bottom incisors because she's chewing on her fingers a lot, but she seems to be less fussy and has a better appetite now!

Yesterday we decided to start weaning her off of the bottle. We thought we'd try to have her completely off of it by her birthday!! So far so good. Yesterday she just had two bottles--one when she woke up and one right before bed! Today--none yet. I've just been putting her formula in a sippy cup, and plan to start her on whole milk when we finish this can of formula. After she is successful with getting rid of the bottle, then we will go for the pacifier. She only uses a paci when she sleeps anyway, so it's not that big of a deal to us until we get her off the bottle.

We've been horribly inconsistent about brushing her gums/teeth so far, but this morning when I did it she LOVED it! She was laughing and smiling and when I put the tooth brush away she actually whined because she still wanted me to brush her teeth! It's definitely easier when she's not fighting it!

This week I've been trying to get some things organized for her FIRST birthday party. The theme is Ladybugs, and believe it or not, ladybug party stuff is hard to find--especially on a tight budget! I think I'm going to resort to making a lot of it myself. I need to get my creative juices flowing. I've looked at pictures of Ladybug cakes online and am going to copycat one, then I think I'll make some thank you cards, and just some decorations. Her daddy made the invitation that we sent to our family and it turned out SO cute!!

  1. The invitation is soo cute! Wilton makes a lady bug cake pan, but you can also make on out of a round cake. I have some lady bug cookie cakes that I made. They're on one of my facebook albums. You can look at them and see if they help. I'll think about some lady bug things too.
