The past week...

Well, since my last post I haven't had the time to feel "down" anymore! We've been so busy with the BCM but we're loving it! SSC started classes on Monday and we've had a NOONDAY lunch for the students everyday this week and have two more to go! Today's turnout was fantastic--close to 40 students!!! Next Monday night will be our first IGNITE (our weekly Worship service/Bible study).

Haylie's been able to come up to the BCM with me and walk around exploring EVERYTHING! Yes, I mean everything!! She is getting pretty steady on her feet now, in fact, tonight at church we had the Party on the Hill outside and she was walking on the unlevel grass relatively well. I still can't believe I'm watching my little, baby girl WALK! Earlier this morning she actually scared me, because I was expecting her to be crawling but when I was drying my hair she just walked up to me. She LOVES attention. Attention from the students at SSC, the secretary, Mollie, everyone at church. Basically anyone who will get her out of her walker or stroller and let her walk around by herself becomes her new best friend.

She's talking a lot more and understanding instructions. She has a rocky horse that sings music if you pinch it's ear. Tonight I asked her if she could go make her rocky horse sing. She walked across the room all by herself, pinched his ear, and smiled. She was so proud of herself! She's saying more words now too: Hello, Bye bye, Mama, Dada, No, Yeah, Yum Yum, Haylie, Dirty, Mema, Papa, and last night she said Amen for the first time! I really can't believe how fast everything changes.

In the past week she's become terrified of her baths. For an entire year she absolutely LOVED them. She would sit, splash, and smile for a long time. Now, it's a totally different story. Sometimes she tries to crawl out of the bathroom before we put her in there, but when we actually get her in there she cries the whole time. She won't sit down. She stands up, holding on to my shoulder reaching for me to pick her up the whole time I wash her! I hope she grows out of this stage soon! :)
