What's going on with Haylie? She's climbing. In fact, today I had gone in the laundry room to put something away and then I couldn't find her. I looked all over the house and found her laying on mine and Justin's bed!! She had climbed up there all by herself! She's praying. When we sit down to eat or before bed and we say: "Let's Pray." She bows her head. It's so cute, and I just love that she's already noticing those things. Last night we let her go to the OG&E party with Bob and Sadie. When we went to pick her up from the party she was running around playing with all the other little kids looking so grown up from the little baby she was this time last year. She was afraid of Santa Claus, but LOVED the gift he gave her. It was just a little play laptop computer that teaches numbers and plays songs. She wouldn't put it down. Not even to put her coat on to leave! It was the first thing she started playing with when she woke up this morning too.
Things are pretty much wrapped up for the semester at the BCM. We had our last NOONDAY of the year this past Wednesday. Numbers were down a little bit because of finals, but still had a good crowd. We had our Christmas party last Sunday night after church and had a blast. Lots of food, lots of friends, and a dirty santa game. Oh..and when I say "dirty" santa I mean it. One of the girls put $10 in a ziplock bag placed it in a box of cow manure and wrapped it up!! Can you believe that? The girl that chose that gift did all the dirty work, and when she was gone washing her hands Justin took his turn. Guess what he chose...yep, that's right! The $10!! That was definitely the most interesting game of dirty santa I've ever played. Next Thursday we will be taking a small group of the students up to OKC to go Christmas shopping! I'm sure we'll have a blast! Then we'll get started back up with everything on January 11 with a full week of NOONDAYs to kick off the first week of the semester.
God is still providing extra money and jobs for me every time we turn around. Last week the choir director from Seminole High School called me to play for their Christmas Concert and told me he would be needing me in the spring for contests too! The band director also asked me if I could work with a flute trio. And then, I also gained another piano student, making it a grand total of 7 students!!! That definitely keeps me busy, but I love getting to know the different personalities. I'm still selling Scentsy and loving that as well. My second commission check which I will be receiving in a few days will be for over $275! Not as much as the first month, but still a lot more than we had to start with.
It's amazing to see God working in our lives and look back through the year to see how much has changed in such a little time. God has blessed us with so much. Ministry opportunities. Finances. Health. Family. Love. Etc.... Hard to believe this year is almost over, but looking forward to a new year full of surprises and blessings from God.
