So yesterday morning Haylie woke up with the croup. Yucky, congested cough, and a runny nose. She felt warm all day, but the highest the thermometer registered was 99.1. I skipped ALL the BCM events, and ALL my lessons for the day to stay at home with my sweet baby girl. I only left for an hour to go hear Justin because he was leading the Bible study at our church. When we went to check on her last night before we went to bed she was burning up and her temperature was 101.8!! I couldn't help but worry. I was afraid it was the flu. We gave her some motrin and alternated every couple hours with tylenol and this morning there was no fever. We went ahead and took her to the doctor this morning just to be safe. The flu test was negative! Thank God!! But he thinks her runny nose has just settled into her chest and ear causing a little bit of infection. We got an antibiotic and hopefully she will start feeling better soon! I just laid her down for her nap, I checked her temperature before and it was around 100. I hate this! I hate not being able to help her feel better! I wish I could do something for her. I don't like her having a fever, and such a bad cough. I know she doesn't feel well; she's not acting like herself. I'm SO thankful for our friends who were able to work Haylie in at the doctor this morning quickly and get her taken care of. Now...I'm just ready for the antibiotic to kick in FAST!!
I do have to say, though, that she has been blessed. She's 15 months old and this is the first time she's ever even had a fever (other than the very first time she got shots). This is the first real cough, and the first time she's ever been prescribed antibiotics.
Thank You Lord, for taking care of Haylie so long and keeping her healthy. I know you will take care of her this time too! I'm just impatient! :)
